The Stanthorpe Art Prize wants to hear what you have to say. If your entry is selected as a finalist your statement and an image of your artwork will be used in the Art Prize exhibition catalogue. They will also appear on our web page.

Good images are the single most important part of your entry (aside from the work itself!). Our judges select the works to shortlist based on these images alone, so it is of utmost importance that you submit the best images possible of your work. Here are some photography tips for photographing your work.

As we wrap up another Stanthorpe Art Prize we’ve been gathering feedback and suggestions so that we can work towards an even better Art Prize in 2023. Please take a few minutes to complete our feedback survey, or read our report.

This year our biggest collective theme was Fire, resulting from our experiences with the “Black Summer” of fires across the country and the aftermath.

The Stanthorpe Art Gallery Society Inc. invites you to celebrate the opening of the Stanthorpe Art Prize 2021 on Friday 19 February 2021.

The 2020 Stanthorpe Art Prize will now be held from 19 February - 18 April 2021.

Our judges, Rachael Parsons and Simon Elliott, have completed the shortlisting process and shortlisted and also unsuccessful artists have now been notified. We are currently working on strategies and plans in light of the COVID-19 epidemic. We’ll inform all artists who have entered the Stanthorpe Art Prize of our plans soon.

Winning the Local Artist Prize gave me a much-needed confidence boost. I was surprised and honoured that my work was chosen by two well-respected judges who are experts in their field.
