‘SUPERPOWERED ON TOUR’ COMES TO STANTHORPE
‘Superpowered on Tour’, four fun and engaging interactive projects for kids, developed by First Nations Australian artists in collaboration with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), will be presented at Stanthorpe Art Gallery on the 12th and 17th of January.
CRISPS Art Prize 2023 | Endangered Species of the Granite Belt: Flora and Fauna
We are proud to announce that the Bendigo- Stanthorpe Community Bank are one of the sponsors of this pioneering initiative by the gallery. This resource, ‘Local biodiversity – Endangered Species Granite Belt Region’ will be an online digital unit with supporting links and information and a platform for students to share learning, suggestions, and ideas.
Vale Judy Wilford
Armidale artist Judy Wilford, aged 81, died on Sunday 11th December. Judy was a remarkably talented artist whose work encompassed clay object making, design, drawing, print-making, textiles (particularly hand embroidery), painting and writing.

We're moving!
Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery (SRAG) is moving to the Civic Centre corner of Lock Street and Marsh Street. The long-awaited renovation is beginning. The existing Gallery/Library in Weeroona Park will be closed for renovations for an undetermined time. SRAG is looking forward to working with the community to ensure that they can deliver exhibitions, workshops, and events albeit a little differently. Change can be tricky and a big thanks to the staff, volunteers, SDRC and our community for their ongoing support.
Wearable art fashion parade a success
The Wearable Art Fashion Parade last week was a smashing success. Thanks to everyone who helped run and participated in this event.

SDRC streetscape design consultations this week
Southern Downs Regional Council invites you to discuss ideas for improving the main street of Stanthorpe. Council have set aside funds to improve the amenity, vibrancy and character of the main street in accordance with the adopted Masterplan.

Hope & Growth exhibition has a new digital home
SDRC organised the Hope & Growth exhibition in late 2021/early 2022. A call for photographic submissions was met with resounding local community support with more than 100 extraordinary bushfire recovery photos submitted. We are now hosting a digital gallery of the images that were a part of this exhibition. See the gallery.

Tonight we announced the winners of the 2022 Local Art Prize, featuring diverse art from the region surrounding Stanthorpe. This year we had 94 entries, the highest ever.
