Opening night: Summer exhibitions

  • Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery 56 Lock Street Stanthorpe, QLD, 4380 Australia (map)

Join us on Friday 3 December at 6pm to celebrate the opening of these four diverse exhibitions.

  • Journey of Creativity | Joe Wilkinson

After 20 years and four personal exhibitions, Joe decided to create an exhibition that encapsulates his Art over time. He found it fascinating to reflect on his focus over the years and how his career as an artist had morphed into quite different art representations. This exhibition begins with Botanical Studies, followed by Plausible Perspectives, then finishing with Abstract Contemplations and a series of small sculptures.

  • Many Fish | Granite Belt Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Corporation

The concept of sharing information between people and tribes is represented in ‘many fish’ through the idea that fish travel through our rivers and ocean, sometimes travelling great distances. Many aboriginal tribes are reliant on river systems and the ocean for survival and therefore have a sense of connectedness to water and the opportunities it provides.

  • New Beginnings | Stanthorpe Pottery Club

50 years of the Stanthorpe Pottery Club with many highlights and now the beginning of a new era.

  • The Rate of Change | Senior school art students

The world has changed in unimaginable, unpredictable ways in the last two years. Students have responded in a variety of ways to the themes of growth and change, expressing internal and external reactions to the challenges of their world.

RSVP to admin@srag.org.au or 07 4681 1874.
