Originally from Canada, Joe’s creative spirit has traversed the designing and building of a home to many other forms of creativity. Shortly before the Stanthorpe Art Prize in 2002 Joe Wilkinson became a volunteer at the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery. Mostly Joe has worked on the changeover team and collection management team and also curated many exhibitions, including several art prizes.
After 20 years and four personal exhibitions, Joe decided to create an exhibition that encapsulates his Art over time. He found it fascinating to reflect on his focus over the years and how his career as an artist had morphed into quite different art representations. This exhibition begins with Botanical Studies, followed by Plausible Perspectives, then finishing with Abstract Contemplations and a series of small sculptures.
