#568 I love it when it hurts | Matt Butterworth
Wheel thrown porcelain, ball clay, ceramic stains, gloss glaze, gold lustre, multiple firings
Height: 9cm. Width: 14cm. Depth: 14cm.
I am interested in the conflict that arises when one creates a wall. My artworks begin as a simple wheel thrown vessel which is cut, added to and manipulated to expose form and create the original narrative.
Winner of the 2019 Manningham Victorian Ceramic Arts Award, Winner 2002 National Works on Paper. My artworks are included in numerous public and private collections including Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Swan Hill Art Gallery. Collections both here and internationally.
