#341 Pebbles | Nadia Kliendanze
12-colour print reduction linoprint
Height: 45cm. Width: 45cm.
Pebbles is a memento mori, a reminder of our own mortality. Stones were here before us and will still be here when we are gone. In pre-history, when life and art were more aligned and nature was an integral part of life, stones represented our connection with the earth.
In Celtic lore, the stone is alive and has a spiritual identity that relates to our ancestors. In exploring the tactile nature of stones I push the traditional boundaries of printmaking to reveal the evocative power of the stone as object or image.
