#178 Girraween Echidna | Krishna Heffernan
Lino print on Paper
Height: 60cm. Width: 40cm.
In the drought this Echidna was wandering on the side of the road. We moved him to safer ground. His reflex was to roll into a ball to protect himself. I was inspired to draw and do a lino cut of this amazing little animal, whose only defence is to roll into a tight ball to protect himself.
Krishna Heffernan (Grant) is a Aboriginal (Wiradjuri ) woman who has been painting and practicing her Art for the past 8 years. Her work depicts the landscape that she lives in and inspiration that she finds in the bush. Krishna lives near the Girraween National Park and a great deal of her art work reflects this environment.
