#240 Cradle | Laila Bell
Cold cast bronze
Height: 20cm. Width: 19cm. Depth: 19cm.
For me this sculpture is not only about the feminine resting with trust and surrender into the arms of the masculine, it’s also about the inner journey of working towards the inner marriage of the feminine and masculine traits within each of us. Yin/yang — the journey towards becoming balanced and whole.
The moment I hold clay in my hands I seem to go to a different place. It grounds me and I enter that place beyond time and space. It’s meditation for me and highly addictive. It is a magical place to be. There is peacefulness and a sense of purpose that descends upon me as I work.
