#883 Reduce, Recharge, Reconnect | Justin Telfer
Bangalow Palm Infloresence, plastic bag, data cable, telephone cable
Height: 13cm. Width: 58cm.
I am interested in the natural versus the manmade and I work with materials that are in abundance to convey social comment. In this work the manufactured items incorporated are rapidly becoming defunct as technology and social conscience speed ahead, whilst the natural elements intertwine and threaten to take over.
A 3rd year student at Byron School of Art, I work across a range of mediums with a focus on textiles, painting, weaving and found object. Emotion and memory are predominant themes that I explore through texture and process, seeking meaning to my place within the world around me.
