#812 Anya | Jess Leonard

$480.00

Archival pigment print on Museum Velin Rag 250gsm, timber frame

Height: 42.5cm. Width: 55cm.

Anya lays quietly to rest, her body a silent landscape of feathers. My work investigates the life and death of birds, arousing morbid curiosities and playing on the tensions of the beautiful and the grotesque and through specimens of decay I attempt to explore life

My works engage with conflicting processes of death, navigating the many forms of decomposition and the methods of preservation put in place to defy it. My subjects although deceased, still possess a life and personality of their own. I hope to capture this and in my own way give them life again.
