#772 Building Courage | Liz Sofield

$4,600.00

Paper and thread

Height: 62cm. Width: 107cm.

Building blocks of courage to step into the world as a creative person. My language is in the stitches I create, threading a calmness and stillness. The subtle flow of white to gold, mirrors thoughts arising, a shift from memories to present day.

Stitching in patterns of light,
memories in the shadows.
Hoping they will find their way back to you.
Memories are what make us unique.

I want my work to evoke a calming stillness and strength, by its engaging use of pattern and texture, contemplative process of folding and hand stitching. A meditative way of celebrating memories and giving thanks to my Mum whose memory has been affected by dementia. Threading a link between past, present and future.
