#626 Benji — The Mount Tully Red Dog | Kealey Metcalfe
Charcoal on paper
Height: 62.3cm. Width: 45.4cm.
This artwork was inspired from the local Mount Tully Red Dog known as ‘Benji’, who regularly travels in between Mount Tully and Severnlea, where his two owners live. In this drawing, I wanted to capture the beauty and love that this dog shows when he arrives at your doorstep.
‘Benji’ was drawn using charcoal for the shading, and a lead pencil to show the way the fur flows. Benji’s a loyal dog and I wanted to remember him and all that he’s done for us during the time we’ve had him, and now can I share him with you.
Kealey was 16 at the time she created this work.
