#620 Waterfall of Bones | Karla Pringle
Drawing and mixed media printed on silk
Height: 62cm. Width: 130cm.
Ritualistic sensorimotor and environmental marks are collated and printed onto a silk banner. This banner heralds a bodily biography of ineffable experiences. This is the history of my feminine body written into a place where it was expected to remain untold and unseen.
My creative practice has developed in response to the affects of involuntary muscle spasms from C-PTSD (complex childhood trauma). I use a combination of automatic drawing and sensorimotor mark-making informed by archaeoacoustic theories, various trauma therapies, spiritualist traditions and surrealist philosophies.
