#544 The Children's Tapestry Project, Albert | Charmaine Kvalic

$850.00

Woven tapestry

Height: 29cm. Width: 21cm.

Albert was made in collaboration with Jakson as a part of the Children's Tapestry Project. Red is his favourite colour and is the portrait of a boy wishing his life away to be a teenager. Hopeful but wearing an uncertain smile.

My interest in outsider art and artbrut was the impetus for the creation and development of the Children's Tapestry Project. The project gives children the opportunity to experience tapestry. Working collaboratively, using reclaimed materials (cotton, silk, wool) and weaving with a continuous thread the finished tapestry has a fabric like quality.
