#285 Glass from the Past | James White
Watercolour on Fabriano paper
Height: 76cm. Width: 56cm.
As an art educator I taught my students the basic requirements for artmaking — line, shape, tone, colour and texture. In Glass from the Past I have largely utilised line (drawing) and tone. Once tone is used effectively the artwork has the addition of depth enhancing the subject making.
I have painted watercolours forever and on leaving school I won this section at the Currabubula Art Show which gave me the confidence to pursue artmaking. I have been a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute for the past twenty years and continue to be inspired by making art.
