#300 Buckaringa | Wayne Talbot

$1,800.00

Ink and gesso on drafting film

Height: 142cm. Width: 35cm.

In this Anthropocene era humans need to apply an economic value to our environment to warrant its conservation. I have depicted Buckaringa, an Australian Wildlife Conservancy sanctuary, in colours of gold to metaphorically refer to the value that should be placed on our extraordinary Australian landscape for its survival.

My practice is driven by a deep concern for the environment and explores the relationship between humankind and the Earth. My regular excursions into arid Australia are vital connectors for my identity and purpose, feeding my fascination with geological origins, our history and belonging.
