I am continually inspired by the diversity of Australian plants that I see regularly at the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. The Banksias are very sculptural and this image of Banksia aemula exemplifies this characteristic so well. This image had to be one to translate to photopolymer photogravure.
Canon PowerShot G1 X Mark III, ISO 2500, 1/100 sec, f11, hand held. The cropped image was digitally processed for photopolymer photogravure. The UV-exposed, water etched Toyobo Printight KM73 plate was inked intaglio using Charbonnel 55981 black and printed onto Hahnemuhle 300 gsm paper.
