Winter Teapot | Timothy Acutt

Stoneware Clay

Height: 24cm. Width: 23cm.

I work as a potter and visual artist. In the 1980s, I ran a studio pottery in Fortitude Valley. My challenge was to make a wheel-thrown, functional teapot, with sculptural elements. The shape and glaze is to evoke a mid winter aesthetic.

I am a multi disciplined artist working in clay and 2 dimensional mediums. My drawings and paintings are figurative but I try to play with perceived reality. Particular atmospheric moods and social commentary often find their way into my work.

Primarily in my clay practice I make functional ware but I endeavour to give some pieces a sense of mood and presence.
