This painting shows a part of the ‘tool wall’ and benchtop adjacent to where I paint in my studio. As an artist I spend plenty of time cutting timber, making frames, stretching canvases etc, so this picture represents the engine room of my artistic practice.
I am a full-time professional artist living and working in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, Queensland. I am predominantly a landscape painter but I do paint other subjects like still life when the mood takes me and the occasional self portrait, just because I'm always around.
