$3,500.00

Porcelain and underglaze with clear glaze

Height: 18cm. Width: 45cm.

three friends are the best kind of friends is a response to the closest people in my life. I'm always in groups of three: with my high school friends, university mates and my sisters. The plants symbolize growth, and with these special people, we all bloom and care for each other.

Wee Shiang Tay is an emerging ceramic artist from Malaysia and is based in Adelaide. She is currently a ceramic associate at the Jam Factory. Creating functional and sculptural vessels using a combination of wheel throwing and hand building techniques, Shiang's works are playful and bright; her practice takes inspiration from capsule toys, animated characters, figurines, animals and plants.
