The ‘Soul Within' explores what it means to be a woman. It tells my story as a woman, daughter, mother, and someone who was born in the Netherlands but grew up in Australia. It’s about the face we show to the world while staying connected to our roots and true selves throughout life’s journey, honouring the soul within.
As a ceramic artist, I revel in the tactile nature of clay. Drawing inspiration from my local bushland, I weave elements of nature and of my Dutch heritage into my creations using wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Through my art, I hope to draw attention to the delicate beauty of the natural world around us.
