Polybothris Sumptuosa Gemma Jewel Beetle | Jan Davis
Glass, clay, on board
Height: 52cm. Width: 37cm.
The Jewel Beetle. An intricate and stunning display of finely curated and individually cut pieces of beautiful iridescent coloured glass, specifically placed, with gold coloured bead running down the centre, clay fired legs hand painted with gold leaf, mounted on board. This is certainly a one-of-a-kind piece with such depth and richness.
After finishing high school in rural NSW, I enrolled into the National Art School in Sydney. I then worked at the Henry Roussel Art Studios and after that I worked for Florence Broadhurst designing her unique wallpapers. I have exhibited my art in galleries in Sydney, Canberra, Perth, Brisbane and in Ipswich, Queensland where I now live.
