These granite studies were completed en plein air during a painting trip to Girraween National Park earlier this. The landscape is renowned for its ancient granite boulders which have formed over millions of years from solidified magma and weathering. These boulders are like people, and thus represent our relationship with this landscape.
Based in Walcha NSW, Paula has a necessity to immerse herself in a range of environments to fuel her subject matter and inspiration, working en plein air to develop studies and references. Paula’s works are held in private and public collections within Australia and overseas, and she has held numerous solo and group exhibitions.
