Genesis II | Diane Quick

$1,600.00

Underglazed and glazed stoneware

Height: 12cm. Width: 57cm.

Genesis embodies the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural world. Many legs symbolise the essence and resilience of tiny creatures – ambassadors of the unseen – amidst environmental degradation and the short-lived seasonal beauty of our planet, but hopefully sparking awareness of their plight and the urgent need for conservation efforts.

Diane’s work is a hybrid of the functional and abstract – hand-built and altered wheel-thrown forms. Her inspiration is eclectic and ubiquitous. She plays with clays plasticity to shape and colour different narratives but maintains an overall view of nature as the dominant source of energy and influence in her work.
