Figure In A Room | David Asher Brook

$3,200.00

Oil and enamel on Board

Height: 56cm. Width: 46cm.

Painted at my in-laws in Melbourne before my flight home. The painting was still wet so I left it. Visiting a year later, it was still in the same spot.

Painting is a long but meditative process for me, where I use dots to try and bring everything into a unified whole.

Why I paint has a lot to do with the psychology of action and potential, having guts, pulling back, wanting less, wanting more. Battling a sunken cost and unidirectional nature, self-worth, failing and acceptance. Honing in on a platonic dream. This is the medium in which I best experience these things.
