Falling Leaves | Rita Duval

$1,800.00

Handwoven tapestry, wool and silk.

Height: 120cm. Width: 40cm.

A light breeze brings down leaves from the rich and diverse eucalyptus forest, gently falling to earth. Grey gums shed their bark, revealing the orange glow beneath. This piece aims to draw the viewer into the peace of the undisturbed forest. Woven in wool and silk using traditional tapestry techniques.

My inspiration is nature. Woven tapestry has been my medium for many years – slow, intense, rich, textural, it engages light, colour and form in a unique way. I aim to share the beauty and fragility of our environment, to share my experience of our world.
