Linocut print
Height: 50cm. Width: 62cm.
This linocut print, cut in black and white tonal style shows a view across the train station and shops, toward the hills beyond of my hometown in the Dandenong Ranges. Belgrave station, behind the shops, I identify the businesses by their backs. Benson’s cafe has a mural. Cakes is the Blacksmith now. Businesses change but their backs stay the same. I create my lino blocks cutting the image backwards, while my finished printed artwork is the front.
