2022 Local Art Prize Winners Announced
Tonight we announced the winners of the 2022 Local Art Prize, featuring diverse art from the region surrounding Stanthorpe. This year we had 94 entries, the highest ever.
COVID-19 update: Visitors must wear masks and show proof of vaccination
Government authorities have updated the guidance for our Gallery, and we now require all visitors to wear masks and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Happy holidays - we are now closed until 11 January
We are closed from 22 December - 10 January. We reopen Tuesday 11 January. We thank everyone who has participated or visited our gallery during the year and wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Success! BBRF grant to extend the Stanthorpe Library and Regional Gallery building
Great news for Stanthorpe! The Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC) has successfully secured a Federal Government Building Better Regions (BRR) grant to extend the Stanthorpe Library and Regional Gallery building in Weeroona Park, Stanthorpe. This federal allocation of funding was earmarked for Arts, Culture and Tourism.
New Stanthorpe Art Gallery Society Committee
The Annual General Meeting of SAGS was held on Tuesday, 24th August. At this meeting a new SAGs committee was elected; it consists of some new and some familiar faces.

Arts on Top review by Mel Forbes
The Arts on Top Forum was recently held at the Bunya Mountains. A breathtakingly beautiful, special, and ancient place. A part of the Wakka Wakkka nation and holding deep significance to many Aboriginal tribes as an important meeting place. The keynote address by Dr Bianca Beetson gave us all space to pause and engage in Dadirri – the process of deep listening.

Mary & Michelle recently attended the Arts on Top Regional Art Forum, held in the Bunya Mountains, held over 3 days in May.

New Street Art: Firefighters by Drapl
Drapl (AKA Travis Vinson) completed the “Firefighters” mural last weekend, on the wall of the Stanthorpe Fire Station on Lock Street - next to the Woolworths plaza.
New Street Art - Black Cockatoos
Mural artist, Amelia Batchelor, completed a new mural in the Rogers Street Carpark over the weekend. Amelia titled the work “Rain Makers” in the hope that the black cockatoos will bring much needed rain to our district.
