Discover the Art of Indigo Dyeing
Join local artist Liz Powell for an immersive workshop exploring the ancient art of indigo dyeing. Learn techniques to create stunning indigo-dyed paper that can be used for various artistic projects.
Cost: $75 per student
What to Bring:
Lunch to share
An apron and wear old clothes (indigo stains)
Approximately a metre of plastic fly wire or and old flyscreen (wet paper needs to be supported)
A small pair of pointy scissors e.g embroidery scissors
Thick sewing thread and a needle for it e.g. cotton, polyester or waxed linen
A cheap watercolour pad or other watercolour paper (weight isn’t important)
If allergic to laytex, own gloves unless you want blue hands
An old newspaper for transporting damp paper.
A face mask to wear briefly – indigo powder is very fine
A hat
