As part of our ‘Remarkable Women’ Exhibition, we are pleased to invite community and gallery members to an ‘In Conversation’ between our gallery director Mary Findlay and one of our gifted local potters, Jooyun Lim.
When: 10.30am- 11.15am Saturday July 9th
Where: Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery.
Cost: Free.
Many of you will have enjoyed, or may even own, one of Jooyun Lim’s beautiful and unique ceramics.
Jooyun has won many awards for her pottery, including in exhibitions in Toowoomba and Stanthorpe. She has been a finalist in statewide competitions and has exhibited in many QLD galleries.
Jooyun grew up and was educated in Seoul, South Korea, before making the brave and challenging decision to come to Australia to start a new life. Her upbringing and education in South Korea may contribute to the uniqueness and beauty of her works.
When Jooyun decided to settle in Stanthorpe, her talents and artistic vision were influenced by the particular landscape of this region- its trees and nature.
We warmly welcome you to participate in this informal and informative conversation between Mary and Jooyun. Please bring questions about pottery, about Jooyun’s unique ways of working and what inspires her work or just come, have a cup of tea or coffee and listen to a chat with one of our own very talented and remarkable women.
